I could barely recognize her style,something was off. It lacked the fluidity of her other work. Almost as if she wrote this work a while ago and just published it. Yes, indeed, there were plenty petty plots, traitors, intrigues and such, nut not to the level of her other works. It just didn't it grab me, and I found it tedious and boring. It was almost as if someone else wrote it. I just got bored with all the cheap intrigu. I read while shaking my head my head at Dethan, who supposed to have been a great great strategist, yet he was fooled time after time. Not possible that he tookface value of most that he was told; making the plot incongruous and just not plausible. Bottom line, well written yet not close to her other work; too bad, really, she has been one of my favorite writers and hope this is a just a fluke.

This story was just my thing. I thought it was just okay. I just didn't really hold my attention long.
I love the characters and worlds that Frank creates. This world of strong warriors, spirited women, and gods at war with each other is full of plot twists and action.
How dare she write such a book. It's so freaking good. Like amazing. I've been up for hours reading. It's 542 am. This is not okay. Now I have to wait until thursday (It's sunday) to buy the next book.
This new series is really a good read for me. I really like a good action story and this fits the bill perfectly. A villain that is so easy to hate, wish he could have been made to suffer a little more for the torment he caused. Ethan and Selinda are perfect leads in this story. They get a happy life together. Can't wait for the next books in this series..
It is hard to do but this book is a little unbelievable and it is a fantasy story. In audible version, narrator sounds just like Russell Crowe. That is the best thing I can say about it.
Love the author. Liked the book BUT their was no breaks to indicate when the point of view switched. I would read and all the sudden realize its the hero not the heroin talking. Authors normally do spaced paragraphs to show the reader, hay new person talking.

Like this. It's very helpful for readers and would have made this a much smoother read. Sorry to give a 4 star when with a simple editing / publishing change it would have been a 5.
Jacquelyn Frank, storyteller. In this first installment of The Immortal Brothers, Jacquelyn writes about four brothers who recklessly defy their gods. As their punishment, each is encased in his own hell. Cursed by Fire is well written and grabs your attention from the beginning. Offered a chance to redeem himself and hopefully pave the way for his brothers, Dethan embarks on his quest. Selinda, heir to the throne of Hexis, is trapped in an abusive relationship with the fiancé her father has chosen for her. I loved how the two overcome the odds against them. Looking forward to reading the next book, Cursed by Ice.
